Happy Birthday Sweet Pea!

Do you happen to remember this baby? This is my sweet
pea one year ago today. She has changed so much.

We have been so blessed with your joy and smiles this year.
It has been a wonder and blessing to have you here with
us. God has been so gracious to give us a sweet little funny
bird like you. Daddy made you your own special cake today
and you played and played with your new toys. At first she
only tasted the sweet icing.

After awhile she dug right in.. Just like my curious girl.
I love how you jump right in wanting to know and explore.

Oh and those faces those funny faces you make.

Thanks for being you.
We love you!!! I love you!!

Language/ Grammar Links

Its been awhile since I was able to post link but today is Link
day again. Today I will post some links saved in my Language file.
Hopefully you can use some of these too. If any of the links are
broken please let me know so I can remove them. Now on
with the language links..

Graphic Organizers Here are some great organizers for your
children to put their thoughts together before they begin
writing. Several printable available.

Book Adventure- sign up for book adventure and win prizes
for reading. Children read a book of their choosing. Locate it
on book adventure and answer questions about that story. In
return they earn reward points for little prizes. A fun encouraging
way to get those young ones reading.

Make books- I don't know a better way to get children excited
about writing then creating their own books. Here are some
really neat ideas to make some creative books.

1st Grade file folder fun - File folder games for grammar to
Help reinforce the lessons you are teaching.

Mandy Gregory Printable Centers- More games for your children
to play to reinforce a particular lesson. Great for workboxes.

Magic Tree House- Superboy loves the Magic Tree house book.

Word ending block Game from Crafty schoolroom- I have
been wanting to make this fun word ending game that Valerie
came up with for sometime. Hopefully this year.

Simple Women's Daybook

Today is...August 16, 2010 .

Outside My Window....
They sky is gray this morning. It has been raining on and off
which has been nice. I love when it rains. I enjoy how the earth
smells when it's all washed clean again.

Weekend at a Glance.....
We went shopping with Gram for shoes for Sweet pea for
her birthday. We found some adorable sneakers and dress
shoes at payless shoe source. They had a great buy one get
one half off sale. Then we stopped and had lunch at Twin
Pines farm. They had Pit Beef and Pork outside of the market
building. The kids then went with Gram while I stayed home
with sweet pea to the 4-H fair. We are hoping to finally join
in this upcoming year.

We had services as usual. I enjoyed talking with my helper
about the many trials of life. We only had one child the first
Service and one in the last service. I expect the numbers to go
up as schools begin to start again.

Health Care....

Good news! My blood pressure turned out to be fine.

Daddy has some news too. He is working through a program
for job rehabilitation. They don't think he will ever be able
to do a physical job again. He will work this year on his GED.
Then they will work to find him a job. He may have to move around
till they find the right job for him and what he can handle.
Then he thinking of checking into a 2 year trade school. He probably
will still work with his hands because that is what he loves but
it won't be strenuous physically. This all means we may have to
trade roles a bit for a few years. I still will homeschool my
children but might have to work part time as well. I have
put an application in for a job that would be perfect hours
for me, Daddys GED classes and the kids. I pray it works out.
Now I just have to get hired if it is Gods will.

From the learning rooms...
I am anxious to begin school. I am planning and planning.
Hoping to get their first 2 weeks planned ahead. Then each
week I can work on that following week. I don't like to
plan to far ahead because sometimes I think they need more
on a subject or less after looking through it.

I am wearing...
Green Capris, Black shirt and barefeet as usual.

I am creating...
Games for learning

I am hearing ...
The fan, silence... hmm better see what everone is doing.
Dad is cutting peaches
Heart is at work
Princess and sweet pea are watching something on TV
Boys are playing games upstairs
Quiet makes me nervous around here.

Favorite things.....
My printer. I think I need more ink!

I am Thankful for..

Job rehabilitation. I never knew it even exsisted.

School about to start. It is so exciting to try new learning
ideas that you find over the summer months.

Long summer days

Cooler evening

I am praying for...
Still praying for our financial situation.

Our Curriculum Choices for 2010

My favorite time of year is just about here.
We have had an enjoyable summer. The warm sun
on our faces and sitting by the sea. Yet I know it
is almost over and we will get to embark on a new school
year. I am excited to try my hand again in Teaching my
children at home. As I look to this year I know that it
won't be easy. That all of my plans may not go as I thought
they would. I learned that last year when I had to
rush daddy to the hospital and we have been struggling
with new things since. I can feel a lot of changes in the
air for our family. I can feel God working for us. I know
he is there now and before when I didn't feel him. I
also know that a toddler, preschooler, elementary student
and middle school er may not always follow my plans.
With that I give you ideals for the fall.

Let's start with my little Sweet Pea. She
is beginning to take a few steps now. She has
been standing for sometime but is timid about
taking off. I imagine that will happen before
I know it and will be running around after her.
Sweet Pea will be 1 on Aug. 19Th and will
participate in Carissa's TOT School. My little
one has come to a point where she is very curious
and I believe she is ready to explore her environment
in some fun play.

Tot School

My little man Spirit is 4 years old to start the year.
He will be working at a Pre-k level. He knows most
of his letter and letter sounds but we will continue
to work on making those solid. With that we will be
using these books ...(who knows what else
we will get into.)

-Before 5 in a Row (continued)
-Artic and Language (three to 5 min. lessons)
-Homemade math games
- Calendar and morning binders
- 100Th day of school.
- nursery rhyme notebook
- Theme weeks
-Handwriting without tears PreK
-Beginners Bible

Superboy is 10 years old and will continue in the
4Th grade for the fall. He is a struggling reader and
writer. We will focus on those two things. He was tested
and is on the boarder line for being diagnosed with dysgraphia
He loves Art so we will explore that farther and include it with
writing skills.

Beach Baby

Take a peek at my little Beach baby. She loved playing in the
sand and the sea. It was really hard for me to take photos
since most of the time I was alone with 6 children. So many of
her swimsuit photos are inside.

Look at that joy.

Her hair is finally long enough to put cute things in. I missed
that with Princess who hated her hair done.

Family in White

I swored I'd never do these but my oldest daughter
wanted us all in white on the beach. So for her I did it.
Some of them I really like. It was a windy day
at the beach when we took them.

Superboy was reluctant at first to take the photos but later
enjoyed it.

The boys...

I like this one the best.

This is my favorite of the girls. Honestly this may
never happen again that you see them hugging. Now I
have proof that they really do love each other.

See Superboy in the back ground. We took several photos
with the tripod . We laughed when we came home.
I'll crop them before printing but had to show you one.

Where's Superboy??

Carnival Rides

A trip to the Ocean wouldn't be complete without visiting the
rides. My kids really aren't big riders but they like a few rides.
Spirit and Superboy both played a fishing game and won
little trinkets to take home with them.

Spirit generally likes to ride in circles on the car rides and
it better not go up and down because he is having none of it.
He was interested in the bumper cars but he is a little to
small for those.

There are these adorable paintings all over the ride area.

Of course we couldn't leave without riding the firetrucks.
He also climbed in a big pirate ship and slid down a big
slid. I was more worried than he was.

The boys being Silly with Pap..

Spirit just had to ride the train. That was the highlight for
him and he asked for it later too.

While we were there a terrible accident happened. Not there
at the park but there at the beach. The roller coaster slipped off
its track and crashed into the building you see below. Both
my oldest daughter and I have ridden on this ride. A little scary.

Simple Womens Daybook August

Today is...August 9, 2010 .

Outside My Window....
The sun is shining but I won't be out today.
I have a dentist appointment and a Dr appointment.
Sure I'll pass by the scenary but won't be able to really
enjoy it.

Weekend at a Glance.....
A lot of cleaning went on this weekend. I think I have
the schoolroom ready finally. I changed it now 3 times.
Our refridgerator died too so we had to clean that out
and restock.

Heart and I are at the dentist again today.
Getting those Cavities filled and after getting
my blood pressure checked. The verdict will be in soon.

Dear friends

Daddy qualified for a job rehabilition counselor.
With his disablity restrictions it is hard to find work.
They are going to help. Thank goodness.

Facebook, I have found some really long lost friends
on there it is great to reconnect.

Sue Patricks workbox system. All the kids are working
in workboxes or workfolders this year.

Rutters new Southern Brewed Iced Tea. Just Love this.

Daddy is working toward getting his GED.

I am praying for...
I am still praying for our financial situation. Things have
gotten much worse but we have hope if you look at
my Thanksfuls. I ask for prayers for Daddy as he works
to get his GED. That he isn't discouraged and in the mean
time can find work that he can do until his GED. I also pray
that the rehabilitation counselor can help.

Prayers for our church. There is a lack of commitment
lately but I really think it has to do more with the
economy and trying to make due with what they have.

Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week

Monday- Dentist appointment, Dr. appointmen
Friday- I think this is Chess Playground day
Saturday- Yard sale at Grace
Sunday- Church services and Path

Bayside Visit

Several days we spent at bayside visiting my brother
who lives several states away from us. We met together
for our annual family vacation. His room had a great
view of the bay. After spending hours on the beach
we would go over to his room with the view and watch
the boats come in.

Spirit loved all this action. You could also see the
drawbridge from the room. (lately for some
reason Spirit has been tilting his head when I
take his photo. Trying out that cute look )

Here is a photo of Heart and Sweet pea. Sweet pea was
rather fussy that day but we managed to capture this smile.

Heart and The Boy went down to test out the flimsy
wooden rail and take photos on it. I was standing at
the top of the building trying to get them off .
Course Heart was busy taking photos that she
didn't answer her phone. They both survived the photo

You can't go to Maryland with out taking Maryland Crabs. Yummy..
Thanks Uncle Tony for the treat.

Keep in Touch

I would love to hear from you. Feel free to comment or leave a message in my message box. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank- you for visiting Angels of Heart.

Rejoice in the Lord Always.
